N/A Job Summary Successfully moves intermodal containers from Rail to Rail truck and conducts material audits.
Coordinates movement of materials with rail foreman and Landfill Operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties satisfactorily.
Other minor duties may be assigned and may vary by location.
Operates equipment in accordance with Waste Management Safety and Life Critical Rules.
OSHA.
(Occupational and Safety Health Act) and requirements as well as all local, municipal, state, and federal laws.
Safely moves materials using material handling equipment (i.
e.
forklift, hoist, crane, reach stacker) as required.
Loads materials/containers onto/into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
Performs pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned equipment and documents checks on standard heavy equipment inspection report.
Immediately reports any unsafe situations or service related issues to Manager or Supervisor.
Attends and participates in all scheduled training programs, briefings, and meetings required by Waste Management or Manager.
Works closely with Facility Managers to improve efficiencies and identify best practices.
Notifies Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
Notifies Manager of operational issues or potential safety hazards.
Identifies and reports all containers in need of repair or replacement Completes paperwork to properly document work performed.
May provide support or direction to less experienced material handlers.
Reads, understands, and applies information such as, lockout/tagout procedures, safety rules, job hazard analyses, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Anticipates typical problems, identifies potential or recurring problems, and takes appropriate action.
Troubleshoots equipment and assists in diagnosing problem areas.
Communicates clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing; as well as communicates clearly whether two-way radio or face to face.
Performs other duties as assigned Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no supervisory duties.
