The Specialty Materials segment manufactures products that provide more than 150 material formulations for glass, glass ceramics and fluoride crystals to meet demand for unique customer needs. Consequently, this segment operates in a wide variety of commercial and industrial markets that include display optics and components, semiconductor optics components, aerospace and defense, astronomy, ophthalmic products, telecommunications components and cover glass that is optimized for portable display devices.

Scope of Position:

  • Involves the overall planning, implementation, and optimization of all activities and support required for the delivery of products and services to our Business Partners, from materials/service acquisition through distribution.
  • Primary areas include procurement and contracting, materials management, logistics operations, supply intelligence, supplier management, transportation and distribution.
  • A method of establishing schedules, labor loading, and capacity requirements.
  • Responsible for performing tasks in the production control function.
  • Estimates and records production rates, prepares shop orders, and reviews stock records to resolve stock status.
  • Implements standard procedures and proposes modifications to improve work flow.
  • Recognizes when process is deviating from acceptable standards and can implement routine solutions to ensure return to standards.
  • Obtains supervisory input to resolve new types of problems.
  • General supervision with initial instruction on procedures.
  • Gives periodic status reports in written and verbal formats.
  • Detailed instructions given for new lines of work or special assignments.
  • Errors can be detected and corrected with relatively minor effect on the organization.
  • Contributions influence tasks and small project outcomes.
  • Accuracy and reliability of work is important to utility of contributions.
  • Contacts are typically with individuals within own organizations.
  • Actively negotiates work assignments with peers.
  • Occasionally contacts sources outside own organization to obtain or provide information requiring some explanation or interpretation.

Education and
Experience:

  • We require a minimum of a high school diploma or GED
  • We are seeking 1
    years experience in field of planning & scheduling in a manufacturing environment
  • MRP knowledge
  • Manufacturing process
  • MS Office (Word, Excel, Access) and Outlook
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs
