VINTAGE Bacon Style B Banjo Mandolin, Banjolin with original for sale in Fairport, NY

1 of 1
Hi, This listing is for a very cool Bacon banjo mandolin (or banjolin). I believe that it was made in the 1930's. The serial number on the neck and the pot match, and the number is 12793. I think most of the original hardware is present, with the exception of the tailpiece. I believe that has been replaced at some point. I think the wood on the pot appears to be a nice maple and the finish looks really nice. The metal parts and pieces also seem to be all original and really have no rust or corrosion, just a little dull. I did not try to polish anything, but just left it as it. It does have a tone ring. It is marked a Style B I think by the Bacon Peerless. I don't think it has seen a lot of use. It does have new strings and it sounds really good. The neck seems to be nice and straight, and the action seems pretty low all along the neck. I am not an expert, so I am not sure if I am describing this correctly. It is a lot of fun to play. It has an old hard shell case that appears to be original, and will ship along with the mandolin. I think the head is the original skin one, but it could have been replaced at some point. It looks to be in good condition and I can't see any tears or really thin spots or anything like that. I am selling this mandolin as is with no returns. Please keep this in mind when purchasing. I will pack it very carefully for shipping and if the temperature is super hot, I will probably wait a day or two to ship unless directed otherwise. I am happy to answer any questions you might have. Thanks so much for taking a look!
