Hi, I have for sale a nice vintage banjo by Slingerland. It is a 17 fret tenor banjo in good vintage condition. The headstock is marked with a Star. The head is in good shape with no rips or tears that I can see. The bridge is marked Grover nontip. The action seems good, but might be a bit on the high side though. The strings are new D'addario. The dowel stick is marked Slingerland May Bell. The back of the headstock is marked with a decal that says Slingerland. The tailpiece is marked Slingerland as well. The nut looks to be a piece of wood, and the tuners appear to be original to the banjo. They seem to work OK for their age. This banjo does have a tone ring that seems to be perhaps 1/4" in size. Everything else appears to be pretty good and the banjo sounds nice when played. I believe that all the brackets are original and seem to match. It is missing 2 screws on the back of the resonator though. This banjo is about 31" in length and the head is about 11" across. It doesn't have a case, but will be packed very carefully for safe arrival. I am selling this banjo as is, with no returns. Please keep this in mind when purchasing.
